Kintsugi is a way of repairing broken or cracked pottery. This repairing technique was originated from Japan. The first time I saw this picture I was like "wow the design is very modern" but then I realized that this cup has been repaired with gold fillings. The repairer didn't try to hide all the cracks and imperfections. Instead, he tried to emphasize the crack by using gold thus creating something that is more beautiful than before. I wonder if I can do this not only to pottery but also other sculptures.
